Getting away without Growth Regulator?

Are you sticking to the same N levels despite the barley being for feed instead of malting?
Good question, I'm abit undecided I had planned to stay the same but reading posts on here I'm wondering if another 20-30 units would be a good investment,my only concern is if we get a dry time because I can put on all the fert I want and still get a poor crop.

I checked today, and I have approx 2000 shoots per m2, about 5 or 6 per plant. about 380 plants per m2.

At the moment none of these shoots show much sign of dying off.

So I am tempted to delay N in the hope of losing some shoots.

I agree a flat crop would be a disaster. First crop I ever combined at age 16 was flat barley with an MF780, (1960s model). I carried a fence stake to lever the drum back on the frequent occasions that it stalled.

This year I want to be in Marbella by mid August, not creeping along shovelling up molehills.

Holy sh*t, 380 sqm and 2000 shoots...a picture please!! Look after those tillers!!
