Didn't want to block the view from the mirror, never look over my left shoulder as my neck won't turn as far that way.

cut a bit of plywood and bolt a couple of brackets to the front and rear fenders to hold the ply to create a big storage space on top of the hydraulic tank. Make sure it can be removed easy for access to engine(y)

Got a bread tray with a hole cut out to drop over hyd filler but have to take off every time to check oil. Only use it in summer to chuck straps on.

can't be a bodge if you use precision engineering, I'd accept a bean tin. No more. ;)
In my defence I did scour the scrap bin for suitable sized pipe. The grease gun tube was only save by being 3mm too small. Sadly there was no half rotten steel on the scrap pile so had to resort to recycling a previous creation that didn't work. That was made with new steel. Does it still count?

That's an 856 hydraulic filter housing, you did well if it didn't leak afterwards, ours leak even with new o rings.
Ah well........
It was leaking as the shoulder on the housing wasn't square. Decided I'd skim it up in the lathe but made a bit of rhubarb of it. It's only thin ally so I didn't want to deform it in the chuck by over tightening. When it spat out I realised it should probably have been tightened some more
