Case 956XL questions

Hello I'm new to this. Bought myself a Case 956xl recently and want a little more power. I was wondering if anyone could tell me what the best turbo I could get for this machine and where I would get it (Internet or anywhere). Also wanted to know if anyone could help me out with where I could get plastic side extensions on the rear mudguard. Impossible to find! Any help would be appreciated! :)

search Intertrac uk, a Shropshire company who sell available parts, they would also give advice on a turbo, however my advice on a tractor of that age is not to turbo it, and certainly don't do it if she is on high hours, if you must, give the engine block a thorough flushing and have the flow on the radiator checked, blocked internal tubes will reduce cooling efficiency on older machines, if the flow is low then consider re-coring the radiator, fit a new thermostat and make sure the fan is in good order, the purpose being to maximize heat exchange to cope with extra heat generated by turbo charging, a large percentage on engine failures are due to overheating

Bolt a 1056 turbo and manifold on off a breaker and give the pump a few clicks. As long as you don't go silly and the tractor is properly serviced and in good health, you should be fine. If you want a chunk more power, you should have bought something else!

I know that but I have always been in love with these tractors! Thanks anyway!

Cheers mate, I'll give that a go, low hours on tractor and just after full service but I'll go through what you said there and give that a go!

The 1056 didn't have a turbo as standard, it used the same D-358 engine as the 956. It was the 1255 that had the DT-358 engine

My 956 is turboed when I bought it in had it 10+ years never gets hot it has a ken low fan fitted it front of the rad aswell as the normal fan. The turbo trasformed these tractors. I keep thinking of getting a tidyer 956 or 1056 to replace mine as its looking scruffy now but never have as the tidy ones Iv fancied had no turbo and I'd miss it.

Suits is well only thing would be nice is a bit of back shift and sometimes masts a bit tall under trees other than that guy I sometimes work with bought it over 10 years ago when I bought the 956 he bought knocker I bought tractor as he hasn't got one so we sort of share it or use it together think it's still worth what he payed for it now. Iv used a par miter and s browns contractor models and hated useing them due to post miles from the controls its getting on s bit now and nearly swapped forca Bruce suma but for what we do this one owes us nothing and dose all we want
