Cheffins sold some Bonning boards last August. Their results say £ 300 but do not know for how many.
I do know of a Bonning plough locally who's owner offered to lend it to me as he did not want to sell. Phoned and spoke to his wife this morning but he was out . She will ask the question later and if he wants to sell I will message you.

Ok, thank you for that Tony. Hope he wants to sell as I would love to have one in my collection of match ploughs. As for the ones on facebook he said that his mate is interested in them so I think it's a dead end.

That would be Mr Williamson's plough Tony ? the problem with the Ransomes Bonning is that you cannot use it in classic classes and it is now out classed in the World Style class, so no longer desirable to use at matches just a collectors piece now

So I might aswell stick with the 86 then. But I do like the look of a ts 97. I got first prize saturday if you're wondering and I even won Gareth which wasn't that hard of a job either as i got best ploughman in our area aswell.

Very well done Will, as I told you at Denbigh you wouldn't have been out of place in our class, what was results in classics then, who was 2nd and 3rd?

Gareth was third and Peter was second And stewart burden was first in that class. I was quite pleased with my plot but stubble is much more forgiving to plough.

According to the late David Bonning, the Dowdswell boards are slightly modified Bonnings. In the distant past, I owned a new Bonning, and it went back as it managed to bend a frog being transported on a sprung car trailer, and there were no parts available to repair it under warranty!
As an aside, can you book some better weather for next year? And a few less rocks( I saved most of mine up for the finish) together with a level plot? Trying to position the tractor at the top of the slope, with Leyland "brakes" was "entertaining"!

I must admit that the location wasn't ideal but it showed who the real ploughmen were, making a tidy job in a difficult situation. The weather didn't help matters at all but, it was a good enjoyable day. Did you arrive home ok?

yes thanks. left the camp site at 0920 on Sunday, stopped for half an hour at Chirk, got home at around 1700.Pleased with what I managed to do, much closer to the top men now, I find I am using the plough, where before I was fighting it.

Found myself a Bonning, it arrived yesterday. Will get some pics of ploughing later.
