are small wind turbines days numbered?

Ahh cheers, seems a shame somehow. I'd of thought the smaller ones would have gotten cheaper by now. Heaps less engineering than a car but as expensive as a house. Go figure?

I haven't studied it in detail yet!

its supposed to do 150,000kwh a year so not looking promising
My 168000 kw's estimated annual production turbine has only done 105000 kw's in 10 1/2 months and turbine's are only going to slow down production now as warm soft winds don't make hardly any electric. I think most dealer's increase estimated production to make turbine's look better every time the FIT's alter.
Dealer did say wind has been 20% below the norm in the last 12 month's but I have no fact's to confirm this!!!!

Are they correct ours has done 50,000 kwh since December
Our number one Endurance has done 116000kwh in six months exactly. The second one is a couple of months younger but on the higher site and its gaining fast. Both on a good site though.

As to the original post, yes I think that small wind is getting difficult now. Planning due to sheer saturation, fits dropping, and reliability issues are all making it very tricky.

This latest debacle with C&F warranties and maintenance pricing is just another nail in the coffin.

yes its not been as good as i would have hoped but i suppose by dec it may have caught up
NOABL really is just a wild stab at accuracy. It generally overestimates windspeed by something like +0.5. More accurate assessments are available for not a lot of money. If anyone's still thinking about small turbines you really should get a better assessment than NOABL before you do anything else. Hardly any of these projects stack up now sadly.
