Can't believe it's not been snapped up, it ticks all the boxes, tried and tested, narrow coulter widths, low disturbance, drills into min till or dd into cover crops, low hp requirement and available now!

Chop a chunk off the value if you put it in the ground and you don't want it, wouldn't de value it if I were you! Youve seen the light now anyway!

We are using it today got several different scenarios that have been left for it. 1st wheat, 2nd wheat, 1st into grassland and some oats
I'd be interested to hear how you got on with 2nd wheat Andrew. As Clive says, difficult situation. When we had demo it was winter barley into spring barley chopped straw, and heavy clay, too wet really. Spot on for a demo! My father (DD negative) was even more impressed than me at drills ability to put get seed depth whatever the conditions. When we tried it after min till and plough too I think we both realised that zero till or not, that drill would save us money through at least 1 fewer pass in a cultivation situation. The dawning of cultivating to suit the drill has finally landed with the older generation here! What control box are you using?

Drilled into cultivated beet ground with mine today. Very low pressure as Simon C recommends, it went very well. The drill is more versatile than I thought and would do the job of a Vadi or Pronto in min till or plough unless to wet when the only sensible answer is a cheap tine drill.

How do you think it would cope with a knobbly dry cultivated seedbed?

Just roll it down tight before drilling.

That's what I'm thinking. It would be a good idea to be able to get a seedbed a time before drilling, then we could possibly put the glyphosate with the pre-em and save a spray pass. More importantly however it would avoid the cultivation that we currently do immediately before drilling which is likely to give another BG flush. Also would avoid the massive peak in labour and machinery that we have at this time of year.
