Silicone window hinge

So, long story short, what's the best way of going about replacing the silicone flexi hinges in MF 3000 series doors or IH XL cabs, in this case MF.
Rather not make a hash of it and would like them to remain in place and leave a nice clean finish if at all possible..

Take the whole glass out ,,lay both pieces flat with a strip of agri tape on the underside of the joint which needs to be 2-3 mm apart ,squirt gap full of clear silicon ,smooth joint over with wet finger and apply another strip of agri tape over the top ,,leave 24 hrs ,remove tape from both sides ,scrape of any over fill and refit ,job done

Ahh, grand job..

Thank you (y)

The windscreen boys that put a new glass in my mf door (hedgecutting-oops!) used windscreen bonding stuff which has proved to be too stiff-the glass has come unstuck, I daren't open that one and the other (original) one t'other side is a bit ropey too:(

Tiger seal sets too stiff.
Think the stuff you want is high modulus silicone.
Did an IH one years ago, as L-Lass describes.

if I recal it correctly ..
side window fell out of a m8s Renault 145 , it was bonded in , the replacement was bolted in with a hinge , he had the option either way.metal hinge or bonded .

Tiger seal is a pu sealer good stuff. Windscreen fitters told me silicon sealent after a time eats in to the pu sealer. But they wouldnt tell me what clear sealent is suitable For a hinge etc.

I use panel bonder or pu sealer to fix windows in no problem but agree probably no good for a hinge as not flexible enough.
