Losing grain under the combine

Hi there finished the rape and pulled into the oats this evening at 1st thought it was coming out the back. But had a bung up in the trunking backed back and noticed a small pile under the combine but nowhere near the backend, plus at the end of the rows where I waited for the straw to clear out the walkers again a small pile. It's fairly small crappy grain just wondering if anyone has any ideas has Mr rat had a party over winter?

It's coming out the floor behind the front axle, it has holes in the bottom like the side panels here. Can't quite see it but there's some grain built up in here.

Sure we had similar with our axial flow once but was several years ago and can't remember how we got over it!

Don't know much about JD combines but are you overloading the sieves and pushing too much over the tailings auger ?

is the crop really fit ?

try opening your sieves / reducing your thrashing

It's probably not there yet it's true, but the grain was coming off under 15%. Yeah had sieves open after I thought it was coming out the back. Will try reducing the thrashing.

i hope you weren't leaving that much osr on the floor!
No way!! I regularly had a scratch around, as did boss and dad on the trailer. Pretty much clean's a whistle on the ground.

Is the fan a paddle tyre? Something Tony Gardiner (God rest his Soul) if the gap between the paddle and the housing is too great then it can create a suction and drag grain off the selves, just a thought.

Don't know tbh, how'd you get over that?
Paddles should be adjustable most probably not cause but good to eliminate the least obvious. I like Kevin's suggestion, on my last 2 machines 1 red and 1 light green had holes in grain pan rubber which create quiet a loss from a small hole. The OSR will show it up and the oats will enlarge it.

I though paddle fans went out with the previous generation of 1100 combines. That looks like a 2000 or 2200?

Unbolt the side pannels with the holes in to get a better view of where its coming from.
Somewhere around the grain pan is my guess.

Right little bit embarrassed took side panels off and climbed in and there's a small hole in the plastic pan where grain drops from the rotor, will try some gaffer failing that grip fill.
