Poultry litter drying systems grant

Hi.

I am in the planning stage for installing a CHP biomass system on a poultry farm.

In the course of my research I have seen information regarding a grant (for up to 40% of capital expenditure) to install poultry litter drying systems. The grant is available through the Countryside Productivity Scheme.

Does anyone have any knowledge of manufacturers of grant-compliant drying systems, or of installers, ideally in or close to East Anglia?

Any information to help me to get started will be welcome.

Thank you.

Found dried chicken muck not a lot of good as nearly all the n is lost in the drying process. Did a bit of a trial across a field a few years ago put 2 tons on about a 12 meter wide 300 yard long strip right across the tramlines to see . Was expecting it to show up and make a difference didn't see one bit of change.
Keep it real wet chicken muck is the best stuff .

A word of caution.

Many have developed 'creative' schemes and means to claim the RHI, these are being scrutinised to ensure the tax payer is getting value for money. If it is felt there is neither a practical or environmental benefit from these ' schemes' then not only will funding be withdrawn but in some cases it is being considered if it should be repaid.

Take care.............and, please don't shoot the messenger.

Not so much info about the RHI, but if the unit is EA regulated the inclusion of a CHP unit is not included under the biomass boiler position statement. Not to say that it isn't do-able, just not as straightforward.

Wood Energy Ltd have a biomass boiler that can burn poultry litter and you will receive the Goverments RHI payments for doing so.
You must be heating hot water that is then connected to fan units to heat the sheds. You cannot just burn it without the heat being used for something.
Sizes are quite large starting at 800kW (about 4 standard sheds of c. 50,000 birds in each) and go up to 2MW.
Brochure can be downloaded from their website or here; http://www.woodenergy.com/media/139985/binder-heating-with-chicken-litter.pdf

PM me if you want a chat or a quote.
