Yes repairable but dont spend too much on it, they have the turning circle of a fully loaded oil tanker but otherwise a good tractor get the engine running and check the transmission before you spend much on it

Keep it full of water add radweld if you think its worth it, to see what the rest is like, just don't let it run low.
You will probably have to give something for it, so that if it works out for you, its your tractor, not his?
If it starts and drives take it with you, if not no harm done, leave it where it is ..............
The cost of those projects can add up .........

I can never understand why people let tractors get in that state, the only thing I can think of is that they have far too much money or little understanding of finances
It's in better knick than the stuff for auction in the farmers weekly I don't know how they identified half of it

Going to charge the battery (it is in the barn) pressure wash the block to get rid of all the crud and then try starting it.
Depending on if it starts and how bad the leak is I will make a decision.
Looking on the internet depending on condition I see they sell from around £6,500.00 to £13,500.00 depending on condition
Previously I have only split a Fordson Super Major so a 4wd is totally new ground.
Is there anything in particular I need to be aware of. I have plenty of jacks, stands and a gantry

Would you not try welding the block first, see how that goes, before you start splitting it?
Do you know anyone with a welder, or do you weld? As you probably know, cast is slightly more difficult than mild steel.
Should be nearly as easy as the Major, if you have to split it ................

Yes I know a coded welder (he used to scare the shite out of me doing "Hot Taps" on gas pipelines with the gas still flowing through them.) I used to maintain his welding set engines
