Clean Power Solutions - battery storage - the future?

Just been sent this.

What do people think? @renewablejohn @woodworm it would be ideal for grain drying at night if you have PV already?

These systems are great for situations where you need power at night and produce more than you need during the day but I wouldn't think grain drying would be top of my list as its only really a summer thing in most situations. I can see the sense in one of these but not really for that application.
I think smaller versions will become common in private housing where house owners are currently not gaining from their pv panels when its dark and they still have to pay for grid power.
I would think its similar to a much larger version of the Tesla storage system, although I have heard indifferent reports about the longevity of that system.

If you feel it would work for you, go and have a look, you've nothing to lose from doing so

Ignore the hype battery storage for off gridders has been around for over a decade and now every man and his dog is jumping onto this storage bubble. Its not rocket science so long as you use a reputable company which are difficult to find. The only one I would recommend is Victron who have actually developed the market place over the last decade.

Like anything to do with batteries they have a finite number of cycles and eventually need to be replaced. At a national grid scale there is far better and cheaper solutions then using batteries.

Know a chap who has been to the USA to see a new "liquid" battery that can be pumped into cars charged and then pumped out again to be recharged meant to be the answer to long journeys and it can be charged up on renewable energy

Dont know anymore he said the place was top secret out in the desert somewhere but was huge, was developed to store electric from solar panels but then realised that it could be used for cars

Can't read the print too well

But his phone number puts him within 2 miles of here.

There's been a few 'green' companies appeared here in the last decade.....
None left,
There's a windmill installed 1/2 mile away, as good as on the pavement, it got going one windy night, they had to shut the road. Been tethered down ever since.
He was an 'expert' in renewables.

Just sayin.
