I'm impressed so many on here have such a focused plan for the future . I find myself making plans for all sorts but being with First Milk dampens my enthusiasm somewhat.Cutting costs to the bone for the moment and shelving plans for any increase in output.

I've got heifers hopefully calving in November this year so that's all the expanding I want to do. My main plan is to breed a low maintenance cow, bring these november calving heifers into spring calving and improve my grazing management

2016 reduce costs to 18p,work smarter(less hrs for everybody),sell less litres per cow ,grow and eat more grass, measure measure ,measure, reduce debt, enjoy each and very day working with my father and finally appreciate how fortunate I am there are many people in this life who have it tougher than me
long term- keep making it simpler, grow large enough to go OAD and win a Cheltenham gold cup, encourage my son to learn and travel so he can put is own stamp on this place if he wants, continue to challenge and be challenged and get better at Yoga.

still be dairy farming is my main aim,get the tenancy on our farm finalised into my name from dads for next 25 years, already agreed so just few bits of paperwork to do..look at the possibility of installing 2 robots and cut cow numbers to 120ish whilst keeping around the same average yield, dads 60 this year and he cant milk forever

I did have pointers but then I got married so swapped them for school fees and a mortgage. the mortgage and school fees are nearly at an end now so the money will be set aside until I am able to compete with the likes of Riche Rich for one top of the range scoppy hurdler(y)

Rich ricci did have a 40mil pay off from Barclays mind. But I'm liking your ambition. I hope you find the next faugheen, no other English trainer seems to be getting close [emoji108][emoji106][emoji237]

would agree with that, was talking to the champion trainer in the pub the other night and he was saying the prices being paid in France for winning hurdlers is getting higher and higher + he says there seems to be a greater willingness to keep horses within France adding to the supply/price issue.

What do you consider to be big enough for OAD? And what do you base that on?
