Terra Tyre and Wheel

Looking for a single Terra Tyre and Rim preferably with bolt in plate.

Needs to be about at least a 1 metre wide by at least 1 metre outside diameter. Load carrying ability and wear not really significant but must hold air.

To make a single front wheel for my power harrowing tractor to turn it into a tricycle and avoid that bit of un consolidated land between the rear wheels. Or if anybody knows of a kit to do this or something similar then please let me know.

Whatever you end up with, we need pictures!!!

Would a 4ft press on the front not do the same job?

I thought about a front press but it seems like a waste really when you could just use weight of Tractor on single middle front wheel, maybe with a bit of added weight and would give easier steering etc. I think they use tricycles in the Netherlands. The tractor is a Case 1394 which has Terra's on the back that go to full width of 3m power harrow. Just need the bit in between consolidating as well. Used for preparing seedbeds for grass seed and beet where I want a level evenly consolidated finish. Could maybe pre roll the ploughing instead, but that's another operation.

Would it not be easier/cheaper/more available to use a pair of wheels? The load would be balanced so you don't have all the hassle of a one sided structure. It has got to be easier to find a pair of wheels than a single terra. Maybe 18.4r30?

There must be hundreds of the old ritchie front press wheels in nettles around the country.

Not wanting to disillusion you but finding the wheel and tyre will not be the most difficult part of this project, have u got plans for the rest of it?

Correct. Not really sure whether it's worth the bother. It might save the initial pass with the rollers before power harrowing, but it might not be quite good enough, as a tyre always leaves a dished impression rather than a flat one.

Also agree with the above post about using two wheels instead of one. I think it would make steering easier as well.

If I go ahead, I intend to use two of my sprayer LGP wheels, so I no longer searching for one large wheel and tyre, thanks.
