Are ratchet spanners any good?

How does your friend get on with these? I've looked at them a few times but wasn't sure how strong and durable they would be...

I got a set off Britllool ones off ITS, just looked they don't do them anymore One of the best 50 quids I have ever spent on tools.

He has pleased with them. Despite the thin wall of the extensions, the large diameter should make them just as strong as normal.

How they fair in at the hands of a rough farm worker could be another matter (impromptu punches etc.), he was mainly working on cars where for some jobs like pulling apart some cars suspension they were invaluable as you could get an allen key though the socket to stop the damper rod turning while undoing the nut with a ratchet. Some manufacturers recess the nuts on dampers into cups so you wouldn't be able to get a ratchet spanner on them.

Had them sevral years now loved them so much brough 24 27 30 ratchet spanners and are used nearly as oftern as my hammer

The draper ones have a lip that is useful when winding nuts off long bolts.
They are up there with sliced bread amonst the best things

I have 3 sets Snap On double swivel heads. Snap On single swivel heads and Halford fixed head. To be honest the Halford ones are just as good as the Snap On and have lasted just as long
