JD 750A price

do you run one?sounds like your pleased?

Its good. If you look after it and maintain it well it will do what it needs to do very well. Most of the problems come from poor operator knowledge or poor maintenance.

They are not everyones cup of tea though as you don't move any soil and can't see where you've been etc. so if you know what your wanting to do you'll get on well. If you want to see a brown field after drilling don't get one!

Brilliant drill, happy direct, mintil or on ploughing with great results. only downside really is they are quite high maintenance to keep top top

Well your only problem will be finding one. You can pick up 3m ones cheap now and again (5-7k) but they will probably need work and 3k spent on them. Once that is done you drilling wear and establishment costs should be around 40p and £10 acre respectively.

thinking of buying a jd 750a.would people on here recomend them?run moore in the past but didnt get the penetration

Just load up your Moore with tractor weights, I put about half a ton on the back of my 4 metre one, completely transforms the thing. If it still won't go in, add some more, they are indestructible. You will get a bit more soil movement than a JD, but I don't think it makes much difference at the end of the day.

@Simon C How and where did you attach the weight?

On the back sounds like on the platform, over the press wheels rather than the discs. My 3m moore could have done with some ballast last year, though often I find its only patches of fields it really struggles with and often in the same run it finds a soft spot and sinks in too far.

What I find is that when I have maximum pressure on the discs, the press wheels are off the ground. I stack the weights in four piles on the back platform and strap them down with ratchet straps, then the press wheels work properly and there is loads more weight on the discs.

I do have a hydraulic adjustable drawbar which is a great help with varying soil conditions, although this is less of problem in no-till than in moved soil.
