I've done all the work on it into hardness etc. and I have got an order in with APM with a good rockwell standard for £27. I think you will struggle to beat that price - unless you group buy a bigger pile with APM.

The manufacturer is Spanish and I've forgotten the name at the moment.
i'm told non genuine are a very false economy though - only interested in genuine either via JD (USA as $ good rate and shipping would work for enough) or the Spanish factory

I am in at the right spec. Bought stuff from APM before. Utter rubbish but they could have changed and it was not discs. The JD stuff seems to be getting ridiculously expensive.

The info I got on disc hardness seems genuine. I can't afford JD ones now there prices have got silly

Off topic but back on one of my tours in the US (1998) we were looking at a Great Plains direct drill and the plain seeding discs were stamped with "Made in Sheffield England".

We did try to find the makers but drew a total blank. This was 16 years ago. I know that companies such as Griff Chains will make up discs etc. but they need to be working with large numbers to make it financially viable.Come on Jim if anyone can sniff them out it got to be you.
I have the web site for them boys now .
Best trade price I can find for JD discs is Euro 28 plus delivery, so the APM quote is not too bad.

APM is the best price. Ask Brian for a deal (I think quality is good enough). APM's weren't that good.
I have to change mine again soon which feels too early - per acre its about 50-60p but it feels expensive at the time and its a pain in the arse. I suppose its one of my few complaints about the drill.
