Classic tractor mag

"I've bought classic tractor from the first issue out, in our house it is a sin punishable by beating with a stick no thicker than my thumb any woman who should be stupid enough to use a copy of classic tractor as a coaster for a cup of tea. Seriously, I think it's the best tractor and machinery publication out there, so good it is that my mother and my wife read it from time to time too."

Brynseiri - one of the best compliments we've ever had! Priceless, very amusing and definitely worthy of passing on to our contributing team. Love it!

Bloody good mag' I say. Got it since day one, and only seem to have lost one from the collection. I gave up with most the others, would sooner read an older issue of CT.
By the way, happy birthday for last month Rory.

feel north wales gets left out of some farming mags, farmers weekly lucky if there maybe 5 article's in a year about north wales farms, profi haven't featured any north wales contractors ( only big boys from Cheshire and Shropshire, classic tractor odd feature,

Yea, your spot on there. West wales Aswel. Some nice farms/machinery/landscapes around.

The trouble is, magazine journalism isn't the million pound job folk think it is, so travelling miles from home to gather material for a few articles can't be viable. I know a local lady who does this for a living, she writes for three tractor mags I know of, smallholder magazines, country crafts, I recall her telling me the material she has to put together to scrape a living to me sounded immense. So basically, unless mr Day corrects me on this, if a CT paparazzi doesn't live within reasonable travelling distance from a specific area, it won't feature on an economics basis unfortunately.

its like farmers weekly, before say this I don't hold this against them but often farmers that are featured are from devon, kent and surrey its like a southeast clique if like !

Brynseiri,
This is true to some extent, but fortunately over the years we've managed to put together a good team of contributors, plus farmers, contractors and general machinery enthusiasts across the UK and Ireland. As a result, there are few areas that we can't reach with a bit of planning and thought. Ireland used to be difficult, but we now have some good people over there too.
You are right - the cost is a consideration and generally it doesn't stack up to have a journalist travelling more than 100 miles to do a job.

Been subscribing to Classic tractor for a long time and reckon it keeps getting better all the time.
Also just subscribed to FMJ, got my first issue a couple of weeks ago and very happy with it
However getting a bit annoyed at the time it takes CT to get here, only got the august one the other day.
The address sheet for FMJ says Royal mail and it arrived bang on time(y) CT says priority mail swiss post with a return address in Switzerland. Thought they were the same outfit:unsure:
Any ideas @rorsday
Have tried ringing helpline got nowhere. It never used to be like this, just about the last 12 months.
