My own crop lodged during a settled spell of weather, only the tramlines + rigs remained standing ...crop only received 84 units of nitrogen ...baffled !!!!! Has anyone else experienced this ???

Same here.Cassia/Volume standing but Glacier lodged badly.

Despite going over the Glacier still outperformed the Cassia and will be drilled this autumn. Will definitely use a more robust PGR program on Glacier next spring (Canopy/Moddus then if required follow with Terpal).

Same for me as well. I had mainly Glacier with a bit of Cassia seed from the year before. The Glacier went down, but yielded better than the Cassia.

I was grateful that I got it dry, I wonder what it would have been like with last years weather.

I do not put straw strengthener on WB because I use all the straw and find that if I use strengthener it is brittle. But I think I will have to next year.

Mine only had 0.75 ltr/ha Terpal @ GS45 as this has been more than adequate for Cassia, and as they are both the same (7) for lodging and Glacier having shorter straw length on the RL list i was expecting the same, this is not what we have seen in practice, luckily ours had brackled and slightly lodged in a few places and it was dry at the time so no big issues, but a bit more pgr will be needed next year.

Had glacier this year which had a robust pgr. Only knee high. Stood well apart from fert overlaps. It all went down when it got to about 35% moisture. Yielded well but it would have been lost if it had not been for great harvest weather. Wary of growing it next year

All Glacier of mine went down. Cassia and Volume stayed on its feet (just) and out yielded glacier by 0.3-0.5 tonnes/acre. No intention of growing it again on deep fertile soils.

it wasn't sown after grass by any chance? I'm just thinking K deficiency which often occurs after grass, it often shows itself in the form of brittle straw.
