Sheep Theft, Consett area

Officers today have visited a local farm who has reported the theft of 136 sheep including Suffolk Cross. This is believed to have taken place this week, possibly on Wednesday in the Witton Gilbert area on the outskir...ts of Langley Park.

Some of these sheep are tagged and colour coded to which officers have the details to progress their enquiries.

Did you notice anything suspicious if you were in the area? Any suspicious vehicles? Do you have CCTV which may have picked up any vehicles which could be linked? Do you have information regarding anyone with new stock that is out of character or anyone offering stock which matches our description?

We believe a very large vehicle will have been used to transport the sheep, along with rural knowledge and experience to do so.
