Soyl VRA N trial

Interesting result from the single wheat field I ran a Soyl Sense trail on this year, by no means scientific but its seem to have out yielded its otherwise equally treated neighbours pretty consistently

I have a similar result from a single OSR filed that we also ran a comparison on

And presumably you would normally expect that field to do about the same as the others?

Here is the OSR VRA vs no VRA yield maps - not quite so dramatic but I think the VRA field (the biggest at bottom of map) is the highest despite not being the best soil, I would normally expect that field to be the worst of this block

First year farming this new block of land so I cant answer that - its pretty consistent in terms of soil type, topography, fertility and history though so I really wouldn't expect much difference on the face of it

I did say this was a rather unscientific trial !

Can you put a figure on the %age improvement?

Will look in more detail when in the office next but on the wheat map it looks like it could be geting in for 1t/ ha in this case

Pretty impressive IMO, and as a ex n sensor user for about 5 years in the past feel I have to revisit this now based on the above

I've been trialling VR N for 3 years now. Last year was the first time I got a yield increase in wheat using the canopy model system. What did you use Clive?

That didn't answer my question :)

Changing the subject, how do you select more then one field for maps in Gatekeeper? I can only do one field or every field in that job.

sorry read it wrong - we used canopy model

re gatekeeper just tick this box

Thanks. I agree that the Canopy model is probably the best, but yet agin it didn't bring the total field yield t/ha to more than the flat rate - in fact, it yielded less...

With 1 positive result out of 9 trial fields over 3 seasons that's not encouraging me at all.

I put my entire harvest into 4 jobs for 4 crops with dozens of fields in each job, which nearly melts the computer in producing the maps. I guess I'll have to split the jobs up to get a more meaningful way of displaying it.

I break it down in jobs by variety and block so end up with a fresh card each day pretty much, too much data on one card in not a good idea IMO if something corrupts etc

I find that Greenstar & Gatekeeper don't communicate that well when it comes to jobs, so just let the 2630 screen record everything then sort it out in the office on a rainy day.
