advice on the right tractor

Fairly new to the forum after some advice on the right tractor for world style conventional ploughing. Currently using a fordson super major with a quick entry top link and a second leveling box.
Having succses in the novice class but for the world style 4wd and spools would be needed any advice or tips would be appreciated budget would be 4-5 grand. Fairly handy with the spanners so would happly do something up.

thanks in advance Tim

How far are you competing and how do you intend transporting said tractor.

If you only have a 4x4 and trailer you will struggle with anything bigger than a 135 due to weight.however if you have a small lorry then the world is your oyster.

Reason I said 135 is that there is a lad up here who fitted a range rover front axle to 1 for the same reason as youres so it can be done!!!!!!!!

Be difficult to find a county.
What about a 41/4610 4wd with AP cab seem popular with plough men.

QUOTE="Kevtherev, post: 561626, member: 4240"]I think a 4610 has a centre drive carraro axle not sure how the drop box would work on a 4000?
Be a fair job basically the same running gear.[/QUOTE]
Im sure theres a bloke up north who has done one maybe someone on here has more info, I like the 4000 because its a handy size for me and im not worried about a cab.
