Ready to go!!!!

David Browns?

Did they ever get exported?
Back in 1987, I did the normal college leavers' thing of spending a few months travelling round America with a couple of agric pals as we had saved up a bit of harvest money. I remember going to the Houston Livestock Fair and Rodeo thinking I would see some big Yank equipment, and what's the first thing I see inside the door? A Case stand with a range of David Browns just like the 1390 at home, and with Made in England on the plates. Actually, it was remarkable how many British made tractors there were then, the Ford stand was also largely Made in England, and I think most Masseys too.
I had to work on a dairy farm in Maryland before I got my hands on an American built Oliver :)

the americans had a fair part in the design of the 90 series...hence why they were not exactly "brilliant" at first...

il have a 13/1494 4wd synchro, and a 2wd 1594 synchro if you got any lol

We once hired a 2wd 1594 synchro, did 4 loads to try the forager then lad took it home,he stopped at the pub on the way :depressed:then he went the back roads home got about halfway and hit a tree, took the front axle off and tipped it over onto the road,he then made his escape via the sun roof.

Next morn the police are round at ours to tell us the tractor has been found crashed on the fell, lad maintained it had been stolen:facepalm: The hirer got about £8k on insurance, were they ever £8k:scratchhead:

they were quite fast on the road for a DB, well over 40k on the right wheels, and if you could keep them on the road!!!
