The P-Tronic 40 Air Plasma Cutter is a significantly superior machine with a better cutting capacity to the machine mentioned by yourself. Obviously we cannot compete on price with an inferior machine as we pay more for the P-Tronic than the CUT40 40amp Air Start is advertised at.
However, as all members are aware our technical support and backup is available to them on all of our products.

@TomWeldingSuppliesDirect I have one of these plasma cutters: http://www.technicalarc.co.uk/index...page=flypage.tpl&product_id=63&category_id=59
I bought it direct from Richard at Tec-Arc and am very pleased with it. I see you are also suppliers for these Tec-Arc machines on your website, but I've never seen you promote them or advertise them. The spec, power, and cutting ability of the Opti-cut 65 is much better than the Hypertherm powermax 45 machine that you also sell and promote frequently, although the purchase price surprisingly is much the same. I just wondered if there was a reason you don't advertise the opti-cut machine when it seems like they're the most powerful single phase plasma available at a similar price to the lesser power Hypertherm??

Hi

We do sell a lot of Tec-arc equipment and we find the quality and price is fantastic ......... there is only one problem, delivery times from Tec-Arc are painfully slow currently, I have spoken to Richard personally to try to speed things up but unfortunately 20 days prevents us from pushing the great range of machines, should Tec-arc speed things up then watch this space where the Opti-cut 65 is concerned.

I hope this explains things.

If anyone does wish to buy Tec-Arc equipment and is prepaired to wait then we at welding supplies direct will be more than happy to price match any like for like quotation.

Yes that explains things thank you. I'd just wondered if there may have been some reliability or warranty issues as to the reason why you weren't promoting Tec-arc.

My Opti-cut 65 performs very well and does all I require. Must admit, when I went and had a demo with the Opti-cut I bought that very machine there and then, then ordered a second machine for a friend. The second plasma did take quite a while to arrive though so I see what you mean regarding supply.

I also have a couple of Tec-arc mig welders, one of which is over 25 years old and have been no trouble whatsoever.
