Are jd drills available through jd dealership or are they all from an importer I think strip tillage would rip it up very uneven I don't know about mzury but my neighbour did some of exactly the same type with a Claydon and it was a disaster too hard to consolidate again. It's just annoying we are ripping it up with sumo and having to bash it down when soil is so nice with grass roots right down to subsoil. It is just so dry and lumpyJD 750A would work well , also Mzuri with front disc maybe?
The reason I asked about 950a is our jd dealership seems to push sumo drills. How much pulling would a sumo take need a 4m for tramlines reallytry and get a sumo dts on demo or beg and borrow one will work well on old leys, just might need a flat rolling afterwards thou
Market harborough. I like the look of the simtech as they are cheaper than the rest as we are on smallish acreage but we have reasonable size tractor for chopper and big balerWhich part of Northants are you? Neighbour bought a JD750A from Farols earlier this year after demoing one last Autumn. Would think a Simtec would be ok too
They are a good simple drill that will go in most conditions. They won't leave a tidy finish compared to a disc DD but do place the seed into a good micro environment to grow. They are heavy too so need plenty of weight up front.Market harborough. Oats sown into PP end off October last year.
