I have a Kodak ESP5250 wifi printer, probably around 5 years old that for the last year has printed of a bad quality and with lines missing out (as in it "prints but what it does is faded with some parts missing out anything at all). Does anyone know any remedy to fix it or is it just get a new one time?

It had a problem with the ink print head for a while but I eventually figured how to get that back in place and its been since that the printing quality has been an issue.

TIA

If you have performed all the cleaning and calibrating duties you could get a price for a new print head I suppose, but a brand new printer costs very little. A new one will not be a Kodak of course, but who cares what brand it is as long as it works and is cheap on ink.

Thanks, I spoke to my wife after posting and she says it will scan normally so that really made me :scratchhead: Decided to delete the firmware on the computer to check for any virus damage and re download it, did that and it printed two pages near perfectly then the third was worse than before. Have ordered some "genuine" kodak ink to put in tomorrow to see if that changes anything.
Have already looked at the price of a print head and it was towards £50 so I might as well buy a new one at that and know I wont make a cock up fixing it and it will definately work (y)

Edit: And now looking at printers on Amazon i could get one for £40 more than the ink is costing me:confused::confused:(n)

Did you try increasing the resolution when you click print on the computer screen? Probably behind the properties button, if not visible when you click to print.

We use a Hewlett Packard 1018 laser (£100) black and white only and refill dust £6 for 2 refills on E-Bay.
You might have a bit of a job selling black and white images to all users?

Yes, new printers only half full of ink, at best, its a scam to get you buying expensive ink. Read somewhere they are selling the actual printers at a loss to sell the inks.

I have a Canon printer you can have for a tenner plus postage.
Nothing wrong with it, I just bought a fancy new all in one jobby so this one is surplus.
Dusty as hell looking at it but I will put the airline through it. Needs new ink, black is running out and doesn't print properly if you try and do more than 2 pages at a time.
Model is IP2600 and is probably better than the crappy thing I just bought.
