Good morning all,

Will W here from Mzuri. Below are some recent photos of the crops at Springfield farm.
All photos taken on the 16/10/14

First up we have the rape drilled with ProTill 3T.
All 'Advance'. A short and stiff conventional variety.
Drilled at 3.8kg/ha at seed merchants request to alleviate predicted flea beetle effects.
Drilled with 120kg/ha of DAP going down the front leg.

First example:
Drilled Aug 22nd.
Straw Removed.

You're not the only one to say that Andrew! One chap reckoned we'd be combining by Christmas!!! Personally I don't mind a lush over the top rape crop this time of year. I find the pigeons normally even things out for us later!! Especially happy with the crops drilled straight behind the combine with the straw chopped. Nice to see the residue slowly disappearing. Martin won't mind me saying, not exactly the best chopper on the old dominator but all seems well. Thought the seed rate was a bit high when it was drilled but I think that has helped a lot against the flea beetle. Taken note for next year at home. We got badly hit on a couple of fields at Halstead.
