Thanks Hilly, what about a pump on tractor to run it on air everything is still in place , is it an inexpensive option
No idea but erentek are very helpful and very efficant to deal with, give them a call and they will advise you better than I could. I recently put there conversion kit on a trailer and there parts are very good quality.

If you want I have a set of 4 rams that will bolt right on to the old air brake brackets on the axle all so have a load sensing valve for hyd as well @bobk

You need 4 rams to work the brakes , I have 4 second hand ones for sale, That will bolt on to the brackets on the axle were the air ones are fitted, load sensing is to help the brake control all so have some of these for sale @bobk

The load sensing valve will reduce the likelihood of the wheels locking

Leaving the air will be difficult to fit onto the tractor foot valve, but you will have emergency braking if the trailer breaks away also have an air handbrake on the trailer (as long as the air tank holds air).

Just check it isn't on disc brakes in which case you are buggered, nearly fell for that one last year but managed to extricate myself out of one with discs last year as we only have tractors with hud brakes

It is just a valve plumbed in to the pipe work & a rod to make it work, thimk a new one is about the £

I have recently put two hydraulic load sensing kits on newish trailers that were far too jumpy and were developing 50p tyres, with better results than expected, after reading before that such valves can be temperamental.

Valve stops to much pressure/flow reaching the ram if there is no or little weight on the trailer, causing the tyres to drag, flat spots.
As the springs go down with the weight the valve opens allowing more pressure/flow into the ram. You might get away without valves depending on the pilot, but probably best to fit now with the rams, rather than later.

Spoken to erentek and they were a superb company. Very knowledgable and i have parts coming today. They did the kit originally for this bowser we are creating out of an old knight runway deicing machine.
