As a rule number of members online at any point is usually about equalled by guest numbers online

Unless you actually want to post or pm there is little reason to become a member or login really

I know a couple of farmers local to me who are regulars as guests but haven't actually become members

Most people are registered for about 3 months before they actually post anything

There is a noticeable spike in traffic every morning between 8-9 on weekdays, presumably when the office dwellers have a browse.

About 1000 private messages are sent each day (tff underworld?)

About half a million notifications are generated each day! (And you wonder why we cannot diagnose the odd one that goes awol!)

20% FWi traffic is from Japan???

It was over 60% not long ago and Alexa reclassified them as a Japanese website as a result !..............now if your looking for a conspiracy theory ? .........

Almost as "odd" as the sudden jumps in twiter followers that are often seen ;)

And the more members you have the better it looks for potential advertising revenue, I wonder how many have been made up ?

To be honest from an advertising perspective the member count is irrelevant (you can see adverts logged in or out). Actually you will see more adverts if you are logged out!

I think it is a pretty good reason to join(y) Most of the pictures are interesting and some of them are absolutely superb. I think you just need to encourage more people to post that first time and off topic is a good place to start:) lots of odd/interesting threads to follow in that section.

As has been said before, some people are quite content reading the threads (and hopefully smiling at the funny bits) and generally not too bothered about posting. Must admit I do sometimes think of what I was told as a child and hope it is not always true :nailbiting: :censored::whistle:
