Sercurity ,,making it for the guy who had his ride on mower knicked last week ,,80x80 box section ,,built the same design around my trailer compound except mine has one bar ,,this one gets two to stop anything being dragged under it

Now I know why I enjoyed metal work at school,,it allmost looks like I know what im doing

Im far enough off them,,done welding now ,
just got to paint it .
Had to make it substantial ,,only way to stop the night crawlers getting through it

I have welded several (thousand) bits of metal square like your picture, I have just bought a clamp that, with one handle, clamps two bits of metal together (even if they are different sizes) and leaves enough room to weld them together.

Why didn't I know about this years ago? It was about £65. It was a SIP welders angle clamp. If you are planning a career in welding things up it would be a good investment at the beginning.

This is just a heavier version of the one I put round my trailer compound ,,,used to spend hours welding when I was on the farm ,,

Its worked nicely ,,I spent all of sunday sat on the road sweeper on sugar beet job ,,in return Ive borrowed landlords welder and power to assemble it .

And in tradional blue peter styley,,heres one I made ealier.
The hasp is hidden under the plate to stop top access with bolt crops or grinder

The hasp is under the plate ,,good heavy padlock is all hidden

It looks as though it will withstand an attack by a fairly determined ram-raider.

Ram raiders arent the problem ,,sneaky little blighters in the wee small hours are ,,iff it deters them then its been worth while
