Tff and Samsung s5

Just got an s5 and downloaded tff from play store but it doesn't run very smoothly, spends a lot of time "connecting to server" and not getting past that message unless I go into app manager and force stop then come back in to app, at which point it runs fine. Anyone shed any light or experienced the same problem?

Do you have any other apps to kill that are running ie try it with just TFF as it sound like low on resources on the phone.

No there is very little running, I haven't bunged it up with much yet but tff was near top of the download list, there is certainly less going on than on my s4 previously and tff ran almost seamlessly on that

my s5 does the same. I have given up on the app for now and just use chrome to see tff. Its a bit of a pain as it was much easier to post photos using the app.

Mine does exactly the same, got to go into setting and force stop then it might go! Have tried un installing it then re installation but exactly the same. Used to work perfect untill the app was updated.

Have a go at clearing data and do an uninstall and re-download - just in case a glitch on install

Ok I'll try that, the heaviest things running were Facebook and settings, both using about 180mb of ram, I've stopped Facebook to see if that might help, didn't someone else have a tff/Facebook problem?

From the sound of these errors the application isn't even getting to our servers :( Currently our server error log is completely empty so there's not much else we can do from our end.

I've had the app running on my HTC ONE - M8 since we first started getting reports of problems but so far I've been unable to reproduce anything similar. That being said there's "always" been issues with TapATalk on Android and Xenforo ( the software that runs TFF ) it seems to be on an ongoing battle.

See this thread for other people experiencing issues on several other forums.

http://androidforums.com/threads/tapatalk-and-xenforo.884514/page-5

Part of the problem is Xenforo doesn't have an official API by which to access the forum data which means any mobile application developer is always going to have to write their own software to parse the website text and then display it in the mobile app.

These guys are making money from this though, so hopefully a fix will be out soon, I'd recommend keep updating the software and trying again.

Sorry I can't be of more help here!

Thanks for all the replies, I've taken a screenshot of what is happening

I can click on the screen at any time and the message disappears leaving just the tff sign in the top left corner, when I click that it goes back to the connecting message rather than to the pop out menu
