well at around 1pm i will have lunch

usually manage two dinners on a sunday during the winter, we have dinner here fairly early, 12pm ish, so few hours yard jobs in the morn, followed by dinner, maybe go back out in the yard till 3/4ish. Half hour indoors catching up with whats going on on here, then wander up town for a pint and maybe end up in local wethersppons for steak and chips about 7pm. Wander back home, see what replys i have on the various dating sites im on, look in on here and rant about either direct drilling, gps, valtras, fords or anything modern in general, depending on what mood im in :ROFLMAO:

work, time waits for no man, if it needs doing, it needs doing, irrespective of what day it is.....

i dated a girl whos parents were strict presbyterians, nothing happened on thier farm on sundays, they didnt combine, even if rain was forecast on the monday

i turned up one sunday evening during harvest, (after they had had the chapel service, in thier own chapel, in the garden i might add) to find 2 hesston balers and a chaser parked outside the gate. On no accounts were they allowed on the farm till monday morning!!!!!
While Grandma was alive we never worked Sundays except for feeding and bedding. Not religious, just reckoned we needed to stop and recharge, ( grew a lot of veg then).
Here's the rub.
WE NEVER LOST A PENNY BY NOT HARVESTING SUNDAY.
Always got it , even here in the wet north west
Next doors favourite saying was
"If you've not made your money by Saturday dinnertime, you'll not make it on Sunday"
He had a point.

Rember what a local guy that went chapel every Sunday said about his neighbour's " That over a years work that they should be a month and a half in front of him with working on Sundays but were normally that behind him"

Farm local to me DO NOT do Sunday's, the older generation are devout Methodists, the younger ones (I went to school with one of them) arnt really that heavily into the chapel thing but stick with the Sunday's off to keep everyone happy, fair play, everything gets done (even in a catchy summer)
Some biggish outfits have carrots and spuds there and they know the score-if they do owt on a Sunday they'll not be back there next year

Used to work for a bloke in harvest no sunday work. Start 8am work till late 10, 12, 2am, but sat night done mid night no if s buts. Worked one sunday in 3 years, got combine stuck. Good cos you got to shop, wash etc on sunday

Should have had the day off, but spent the day finishing a pen for Mrs Fred's pet sheep, and stupidly managed to stick a barb from the old wire I was removing in the soft bit of my hand while my gloves were off. I Dettolled it but I just know it's gonna sting tomorrow :( Then tonight it was farm cinema night and The Bridge at Remagen .
