Clipex Fencing

Can't figure out what strainers cost but if they were steep you could still use good old telephone poles for that and maybe bring cost per m down?

Exactly what I thought. A few decent telegrapgh poles as strainers and Clipex for the middle. Especially as it looks like you have to wrap the netting around the Clipex fence strainers to start.

First I have heard about it looks a good idea only worry would be loss of galvanise between posts and wire ,leading to breakages :scratchhead:
As our climate isn't as dry as the Aussies , nice system do

Mcveigh parker are saying it is 50% quicker to erect and is in the region of £3.06 metre (wire, barbed wire and posts), against £2.51 / metre for typical farm fence.

Materials cost for a typical farm fence are more like £1.80/m around here. The wooden posts account for around £0.80 of that.

It does look like a good idea though. We did some a while back just using angle iron as the stakes and it wasn't too bad.

I get my wire direct from the manufacturer. You only have to buy a pallet load and it can save around £30 on a 100m roll of netting and about 12.50 a roll on the barbed wire. Staples are roughly half the price too.

I've included for strainers every 100m @ £6 each and struts £2.50 each. Round posts £1.50 each.

What strainers are you using @Thick Farmer ? Is that tornado wire?

Our timber comes from James Davis, but through our merchant, good timber, I only use 8' 7-8". I only tornado torus wire, it's more expensive, but better to work with. I can't buy it direct, as I don't want to be upsetting my local merchants nor do tornado, so I buy per pallet, at a rate I'm pleased with. I couldn't get anywhere near £1.80 per metre though.

I'll get a price tomorrow - maybe we can do a deal!
