Challengers going back

Has anyone else heard about approximately 60 challengers not being allowed in the country because they have the wrong engines which don't meet current emission regulations and are literally being turned back at the docks?

I wouldn't be suprised if this is just a rumour!! If its true then then it's a very expensive mistake on someone's doin!!
No it's true. Chap enlightened us last week. Was discussed by TNS at the Norfolk show. Bit of a major cock up by someone at agco not getting the emissions correct.

Why can't we just have the one standard emissions to cover the world, none of this clean engines in developed country's and dirty engines in undeveloped country's? Everyone is then on one level, surely that would cut a lot of hassle out in production and then just leave the end user to sort the fuel quality out. To me it's like peeing into the wind when have emissions at different stages why not all be on the same level worldwide??
That's my thought for the day

Having ordered a 775E and was told we would have it at the end of June it's now gone to Sisu factory to comply with tier 4 emissions before being released back to England. They say it wont happen until Christmas !!

How did they manage this ballsup? Did someone tick the wrong box on the order form when they specced them up for the UK? Is it only a UK problem or is the whole of Europe involved? I mean, this isn't a trivial matter of adjusting the fuelling. The whole engine is probably totally different to requirements and will need to be swapped out. The cost of this must be up in the millions even counting that they can use the 'wrong' engines in other applications, though lord knows where.

Who knows, it maybe an excuse for a more serious underlying problem that they don't really want to talk about. Not that worried at the moment though Challenger have found me a 865C For autumn work so I'm happy at the moment. :)

Who are you dealing with at Challenger? Sammy? He'd be a likely one to pull a rabbit out of a hat if anyone could.

60 machines presumably affected UK wide...how many hats and rabbits does Challenger have? The repercussions must be serious. Reminds me of the thread yesterday about certain Irish trailers being delayed...this debacle takes it to a whole new level and scale.
