Chinese Chainsaws.

Among the vast selection at well less than £100.00, are there any that stand out as worth a punt?

Need a 20" saw for no more than a few days a year, that's all. The diddy Stihl does the rest.

Defo no no!! We had a man with no fixed abode turn up at home last year. My dad called me over for my opinion(as I'm a qualified tree surgeon) and I told pikey joe and my dad no about 6 times  but for £50 he thought it was worth a punt! I've used it once sounds crap, cuts crap...the chain catcher would be stronger made of paper and dred to think how good the brake works!
Needless to say it's now sat not been used, I'd spend a bit more and get a decent one if I was you!

Got a 58cc one off eBay about 4 years ago, you get want you pay for, it does what I need it to do a little bit of fencing and a few logs but not by a long way a machine for a regular user ! Starts when I need it too and simple to adjust, always had stils before but had two nicked so was not going to spend big money on another ! A mate bought a 6 month old husky 50cc proffesional saw at an auction for £50 so if you look out sometimes you can get a bargain !

Don't think about it saving you money think of spending that bit more may save your body parts!
Iv had chains off on my sthil not worth thinking about if the chain catcher gives way or any other part
Just what I was thinking.

I had a chain jump off a Husky, luckily the chain catcher did its job, made a mess of the chain and badly scarred the catcher but it saved me.

I'd had no faith in a Chinese one, be careful there are lots of imitation Chinese copies that are branded copies of Stihl and Huskys. The only place to buy a chainsaw is from a Husky or Stihl dealer.

I run 2 efcos for snedding and small trees, more than happy with them, but for the big jobs only my husky will do,both top spec for safety ,but the dog on the efco is better
