free gypsum for spreading (soil conditioner)

We have a large amount of gypsum available for collection in Scunthorpe.

Gypsum is excellent for the ground in many ways including;
Breaking down clay to improve water infiltration,
Balances ph levels,
Increases crop yields,
Gypsum is cost effective and environmentally friendly.

We are not charging for the gypsum there is just a small loading fee of £20 for any size vehicle or trailer.

All paperwork can be provided

What is the status for spreading gypsum as a soil conditioner on arable soils these days?

It's excellent stuff, but the bureaucrats have boogered up another way of improving soils with ridiculous paperwork and restrictions.

I believe you have to have the land tested to see if a fertiliser is needed before you can spread and then only spread 1 ton per acre but the laws should be changing soon for farmers to spread as much as they like to any land without testing.

That will be brilliant if they do. There's plenty of scare stories around about how they're cracking down on any heaps bigger than 35 tons at the moment. Ridiculous fines threatened.
