Following an experimental purchase of three baby Jersey heifers a couple of years back we have now started calving down, the first one is about a week fresh (Jersey heifer claf!) the other two will be coming in later on to a Lim bull.
I've decided to sell these Jerseys off as we're focusing more on our cross-bred animals (Hol X Swr X Shd)
The first one is currently giving around 22 litres per day and rising, I hope to have figures for her when our milk recorder calls later this month. She came into the parlour in the third row this morning, so not lying back!! She stands quietly without restraint to be milked and doesn't try to turn around in the cowstand, even though she has the room to!! She is cubicle trained and not shy about pushing in at the feed fence! I'm not entirely sure who she's by but her heifer calf (for sale too) is by a Cognet bull Lagangreen Roy Boy http://www.cogentinternational.co.uk/bulls/jersey-bulls/detail.php?id=130
The other two can either be sold now as in-calf heifers or I may wait till they calf down and get them milk-recorded too. All stock are genuine and being sold for no fault other than they don't fit our current system.
