She's clearly biased towards the coporate members of the NFU compared to the farmer members. She's finishing naturally in February apparently but should she still be there today?

When she first took over she was on the Red Tractor board and wanted to remain on it whilst being NFU president. This is clearly a conflict of interest to farmers but was not in her head and now we know that the NFU does infact own RT, via Christine Tacon's RT press release yesterday as per this link https://redtractorassurance.org.uk/...ary-environment-module-available-next-year-2/

You cant have the NFU president sat on the board of an entity such as RT that sets out to shaft its farmer members. So Minette stepped down and low and behold Tom Bradshaw the deputy NFU president goes onto it. That is just a kick in the teeth to all uk farmers whether they are members of the NFU or not. Its not ethical.

Since Minette has taken over she has championed RT and more red tape on us.

Is she fit to be the NFU president? If they take the 'Farmers' bit out of their name then yes crack on. If they want to remain as the farmers union of the UK then they need to get rid of every single none farming member and get rid of the entire top tiered team and they should be replaced by a simple one man one vote ballot of the farming members.

Yes she and Tom Bradshaw both either need to resign or be removed from office by the council members!

The other top office holder can then be interm president untill Feb under the conditions he acts on the council etc instructions on the RT issue and does not seek election to the top team in Feb 24, if he does not agree to that he should also be removed from the top team asap.

NFU cannot carry on like the last few weeks/ months/ years, if it does the NFU will have no members left within a couple of years!

Certainly needs to be one member one vote and the president can only do two terms at most.

A one member one vote is the best structure for a Union. Unfortunately for their members a lot of subscriptions have been used promoting corporate interests rather than the interests of farmers. The way to take back control of those subscriptions is greater democracy. Thank goodness I had the sense to stop paying them 30 odd years ago. The issues were the same then really, the NFU has always cozied up to big business.

doubling down on what though?

Doubling down on alienating UK farmers?
Doubling down on ignoring NFU Council?
Doubling down on ignoring NFU farmer members?
Doubling down on trying to get kicked out of office?
Doubling down on causing farmer members to leave the NFU in disgust?
Doubling down on stabbing UK Ag in the back? Or maybe front?

She (and to be fair the rest of NFU HQ) has ignored legitimate concerns about where RT assurance has led UK Ag for the whole of her reign. There has been no outlet for the pressure that has built up over RT for 2 decades. This is the result of not listening to members concerns, never mind none members!

Edit: You (NFU) can’t legitimately claim to represent UK Ag unless they take on board input from all UK farmers, whether they are members or not. The fact that they have also ignored input from their own members only compounds the errors you have made.

@Abi Kay has got another brilliant scoop!
"Madam President, farmers are getting ripped off by their partners, their competitors and now their trade associates and are rightly pee'd off, what do you say to them?"
"I know what's right for farmers even if they don't. If they are upset that I've cost them money then tough. I've had it tough too. I've networked very hard to get well recompensed to favour corporate agri-business over small and medium sized farms because I know what's best!"

"For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not, even that which he hath shall be taken away"
