Squirted a small amount of oil under the skin 10/40w whilst spraying a machine for winter service, finger is sore but not unbearable. Question is it worth getting check out tonight and run the risk of spending the night and day in hospital and run the risk of not spending tomorrow with the kids, or risk it till boxing day.

It's only paraffin / naptha, can't see it doing much harm.

What's the doctor going to do, amputate the finger? Give you a total blood transfusion :scratchhead:

Oops thought you said WD40 not 10w40 ask the docs (y)

Sorry, wise precaution to go to A & E or at least ring NHS direct. I think you might get gangene, not sure what can be done though.

my relative got oil in his thumb a while ago from a pinhole in a hydraulic hose .It took several operations to remove the oil and dead flesh .and now only part off his thumb remains-yet it seemed so minor when he did it-in fact we only realised the consequences when a neighbour told us just how dangerous it can be.
