Find out about the high-value fibre, food and oil products of the hemp plant in our first hemp seminar, held at Stroud Brewery.

About the Event

Hemp is a versatile crop that priduces high-value fibre, food and oil. Find out how it can be integrated into a regenerative agricultural system at the first GREAT seminar, given by an agronomist from Hempen, based at the Hardwick Estate, Oxon.

Joe McGahan is the visionary founder of the farm to fork hemp and CBD co-operative, Hempen.
Before working in hemp agronomy around the UK and internationally, Joe worked at Kew Gardens and Tolhurst Organics. Hempen supports growers to diversify into hemp production with a specialist focus on organic and regenerative agriculture.

In this talk Joe will discuss the myriad ecological and business benefits of growing hemp as well as the unique practical challenges of growing 'the miracle crop'. Bring your hemp questions on soil building, biodiverstity, licensing and how it will fit into your rotation.

The event will be preceded for a tour of Stroud Brewery - learn about their brewing process and their certified organic UK hops and barley suppliers, and have a chance to taste their hemp beer.

The bar will be open throughout, so you can enjoy their full range of tasty beers. In-person tickets include a light snack, and tea or coffee.

The GREAT Project is funding the in-person event, so it is free to those farming in Gloucestershire (£10 deposit refunded on attendance), or £11 otherwise.
The live-stream is free to anyone.
