Grease gun

I have a speedy grease and it keeps air locking, it's brilliant when it works but I keep having to push the rubber end cap in with a screwdriver. Is it because I'm using the wrong cartridges or what?

Seems to be a lot of air lock problems, some on cheap guns some on the expensive ones :/ who when loading them leaves the plunger handle out and pushes it in manually or who twists it off the clip, pushes it in so the spring does the work, is every 1 on cartridges or some still on buckets of grease
i usually pull the handle all the way back and then drop the cartridge in and then screw the top on, who knew playing with a grease gun could be done soo many different ways :ROFLMAO:

Are you over tightening it so the tabs of cartridge are pushed inside the metal collar? Only lightly screw it up so just touches sealing it, then maybe once or twice cartridge just check its not loosened. Found I had that when used to tighten up as a standard one aka tight. I'm using Claas and Morris cartridges which seem to easily loose tabs inside collar speedy cartridges are far better. Plus always bring lever full stroke not pull back part stroke. Hope this helps

I had the same problems with mine at the begging using jcb cartridges
I bought some speedy grease ones with the cup already in, (they are no more expensive) and it was a total game changer. Never locks.
Only thing I do is before I put the new cartridge in I push gently on the cup so it pushes grease right to the top, then put it in, screw the thing up and away you go.
Well worth the purchase price.

I spoke to the girl on their stand at Lamma about air locking and she gave me a different screw on collar to try, it has a slightly smaller ID than the 1 on my gun and it works a lot better. I still get the odd air lock that I put down to not pulling the lever fully open when pumping. I meant to post this on the speedy grease thread a while ago but forgot.

Love my speedy grease but the special speedygrease cartridges seem to be unobtainable in my part of the world. Well, for a decent price I mean. I am not planning on paying ~€5 for a cartridge.
My father fished a JD lubeshuttle out of the dealers scrapbin with a missing bottom but an intact spring. Good times.

The best we have is either the 18v milwaukee which is superb or the reasonably priced one we got from Bunnings. Can't remember the make but I think it's a german one. Both superb and empty the cartridge properly. Wouldn't have a Mcnaught, never seem quite right. The allemite is also very good but cost more than the Bunnings gun.

Thinking of getting a 18v Milwaukee what sized battery do you use?

I'm a massive fan of milwaukee but dont like the look of there grease gun were the tube fits though the body.
Prefure the alemite were its more conventional shape design.

You would recommend one though
Yes. Saves so much time when on the big cultivator and awkward grease nipples. Can also get grease into some stiff pins when the hand greaser won't. That said I've no experience of other cordless ones but Milwaukee has always stood us well. We have 2 impact wrenches and a battery grinder as well.

Why not get some shipped over from the UK? It won't cost much
