my barley was stood in a foot of water all last night, the heap is about 5ft high. Will this cause the whole lot to heat up and spoil or will the top be ok?

....firstly are you insured? if so perhaps just run with it?....has the water gone?.....can you scoop off the top with a loader and put somewhere else?

I would be enquiring which additives will work with the propcorn as I suspect the bug ones may be messed up by the presence of propcorn.
Shovel the dry off the top and dump the rest. How do you know what's in the water might cost you a lot in long run if it's contaminated
It would be considerably easier to get out the dry now than waiting until the bottom starts going of , I fumigate corn to sub the farm and have seen it a few times where it's been left , it then gets bugs and starts to mould on top and as you only have it 5 ft deep it will be drawing moisture through it slowly . As above get the top layer of dry out of there ASAP and get the wet out as it will get worse and it might not be as bad once you get into it

Don't mix it all up unless you can get it all used or dry quickly.

Feed is not covered on my insurance, I'll take the dry off tomorrow and dump the rest

Don't dump it, selk it ti a duck man if you can't use it, you could crimp it but realise it's a lot of hassle and yiu will need a pit

Have you got a neighbour with s mobile drier would take a while but the insurance may pay? Not sure what propcorn is and it may make it un suitable for drier

Yeah I think I'm just going to save what's dry and not feed the rest as the sewage from the village above will have come our way and I don't want to risk feeding and it causing problems.
