Massey Ferguson 2725 Tractor

Hi, I am new to this forum but i would like to share one of my current projects which i am currently doing.

Its a Massey Ferguson 2725 tractor with the 6 Cylinder Perkins A6.354.4 Turbo Engine. Rated at 147HP.

I did buy the tractor as a non runner and the engine was in a very bad state, 3 liners had split everything was seized solid. The engine has now been fully rebuilt, everything overhauled. Crankshaft reground, new Pistons, Liners, Head skimmed, Complete new Valve train, new fuel injection pump, new injector nozzles, Turbo being reconditioned and loads more.

Have a look at the pictures.

Thanks

Engine is back together now, i am waiting for the Turbo to be reconditioned, will be putting in the clutch this week and joining the tractor back together. More photos will be posted soon and i will get a video of the first start up.

Thanks

Yeh its certainly a big challenge but i felt i had to give the old girl a new lease of life. Would be a shame to see this tractor not working again. Because i have no history of the tractor the engine rebuild maybe just the beginning i have no idea what else may need doing but the gear boxes on these tractors were very well built and solid/ robust so fingers crossed she drives out the shed. I am planning to go through as much as i can on the tractor and recondition/ replace where needed. (y)

When i took the head off it was a mess, i didn't know what to expect, everything was in such a bad state, rust and water was everywhere, The tractor i believe has been stood for 10 years or more. I don't know why or what happened to the tractor, i'm sure there's a story out there.

I drove one of those on my first job on a farm when I was 16. At the time it seemed like a beast! Haven't seen another one for years. Good on you for bringing it back to life, good luck!

Mayo, wouldn't be the first place I'd look for a big Massey.
Would it be rude to ask what gearbox has it got?
Great work, by the way and welcome ..........
