If you print it out and complete, how do the rpa know you have completed it before the end of December deadline?

Because you date it when you sign it.

IIRC, failing to have a completed SPR is the most common failure on cross compliance inspections. When my inspector was listing the things I'd need to make available, she said she was quite impressed that I even knew what one was.:D

It must be one of the most unnecessary bits of paperwork of all, meaning absolutely diddly squat in the real world outside the office. But an easy loss of 3% of SFP if not done.

Don't have that option over the border. Is it really a problem signing and dating a paper book anyway, to say that there were no problems?

Ah, didn't realise. Far as I can see, they have a big database and those who don't do online soil protection here in England just bump themselves up the "lets go round and have a look" list.

I do mine on my soil management plan on a PDF. The girl that does my plan leaves a column for it and I am told that this is acceptable. I email a copy to my Natural England contact before the new year so I think that I am covered.

Is the Soil Protection Review the biggest load of red tape codswallop that DEFRA have ever written?

Farmers do have common sense, so this should be scrapped.

They could always pass this red tape booklet onto the Environmental Agency and English Nature, as it appears they like flooding everywhere by their miss management!!
