Had a day off on Saturday :nailbiting: and dad has killed our lucas +60 Rub only 2 years old and probably one for the unreliable machines we have every had, so looking for a new machine now, use it nearly every day for straw bedding and feeding, couple hundred round bale hay and a couple hundred tons of wagon clamp silage. What else are people using which is reliable and strong as second driver is in his mid seventys so simple would help.:)

I'm avoiding anything that blows straw and need hp to drive it!

I've always resisted having a staw blower but I think I bougth the same one sidjon has at the end of spring, a Lucas Castor 60 R. I haven't used it yet but hope it's more reliavle than his

Even the biggest Lucas blower only needs 65 hp.

The best way of ensuring reliability is use a small tractor, the tractor gives in before the blower.(y)

If you have a loadall a spread a bale is best for straw, doesn't do silage or haylage though.

And a cheque for over 10 grand!
Lots of oil pipes and gearboxes and chains and bearings and sounds like poor reliability?

I don't need it to feed silage but the rep from halses recomended i bought one because its only a little bit more commision i mean money!
