Last year rape full of blackgrass this harvest spring wheat after being ploughed early last autumn and pressed. This spring drilled with Varrdy direct into pressed land from last autumn with system discs out of work then rolled normal bl/weed control not a bg in sight last week when combined. Need to put in another wheat crop. Should it be spring or winter?and how to get it established with little or no bg thats the prob.

SPRING Mulika. Drill in march high seed rate or take it as fallow or a couple of stale seed beds between now and xmas. What ever you do don't mix the soil up too deep keep this years seed in the top inch if you can.

Light chain harrow or rake, flush & glypho.

Repeat
Repeat again,

Drill direct with Mulika in March.

Plough in Sept '17 if you feel brave and get some more surface flushes before Spring '18 drilling to erode your seed bank.

If you're not feeling brave, plough again in 2025 (y)
