Aye, but this is Shropshire, the land of the tight arse horse owners.
I've got one who will pay, but he only buys a bale at a time. This bigger customer keeps horses in sheds, like we keep cattle, and buys on price but will buy a lot.My best customers are Salopians , try selling to Stokies..
@silverfox can be a middle man on my six stringers for that much and make himself £30 a bale just for haulage if he wantsGive him a bale , and when he comes for more you can up the price , if it's good stuff he won't quibble on price .... 50 for the 4's and 75 for the sixes
If he's an end user 25 to 30 would be fair . He can get plenty for that this yearThanks Derrick. I realise that the trade is very variable and lots has been made this year. I've a customer with a lot of horses, it's a stud and foaling unit. His own stuff is going straight into his burner, as it got rained on repeatedly. I've got some top notch 4 stringers, that was a few hours off hay, but got wrapped. Smells and looks lovely. They stand me at £13.50 on the yard. Got some big 6 stringers of nice first cut, more silage like, but very dry, which have cost me £17 to get on the yard.they weight 600kgs a bale.
I was going to try for £22 on the 4 string and £32 on the bigger ones, and see what he says.
One of the stallions he's got, cost a million quid, owned by a syndicate.

What is barn stored barley straw worth at the moment? I have a couple of loads to sell in the new year in 187hd bales and its 5 miles off j15 M40.
I'd have an interest in this ,
I have approx 700 surplus conventional bales of good dry ( sprayed off ) wheat straw.
They are in 21 bale, bale-baron packs.
Anyone have an idea what they are worth, or interested .....
