Leaving land to store water is no good all you will end up with is a putrid stinking disease ridden bog. Good for nothing but frogs.
We have drained many of these over the last 50 years as drainage contractors.
How would Chris smith like a swamp on his prime agricultural land?

At the water summit last week I pointed out amongst other things that farmland is for growing food to feed the ever growing population, not for storing water. Reservoirs are for storing water, for use in times of shortage, so maybe selling them off was a bad idea...bloody short term politicians need to wake up!

They never wake up until its far too late, its unbelievable, why this country has to be like this I will never know very sad.

I think the piece with PK was so edited it rendered the piece completely useless.
I can guarantee he would have said and shown much more but the cretins who produce this do not believe there is any public interest in this and moved swiftly on to injured soldiers.
While I have great sympathy with the soldiers the whole piece was out of context and made no sense moving from severe flooding to this!

The BBC are as incapable as the EA, im left with severe doubts about the NFU as well they are not coming out of this well at all imo, a pr disaster for them.
