Got a 18 month approx heifer that has had pneumonia/ ibr. Seems to have pulled through it however she has gone off her food again.:banghead: Had various treatments by me and the vet (Mrs KennyO) but no steriods yet. Not blowing, looks bright enough but not eating.

Anyone got any tips for stimulating her appetite.

Hoping she is not going to go the same way as her mate who was lifted out with the forklift this morning.

What killed the other one?

If its Pneumonia then what steps are you taking to get a handle on it? have you clipped the backs of the other cattle for example.

Get your missus to check ketone levels in blood or urine.

If not in calf I'd go with some steroids.

I'm very sceptical about B12, but its cheap and does no harm so I usually stick it in with the steroid and make it pink.

Pneumonia or IBR. Have had our worst year for a long time. They have their backs clipped. The rest seem to be getting over it just these two problem beasts (well one now).

@bovine @milkloss @Sir loin she is getting combivit just now.

If not up to trough today will get some steriods into her I think (kill or cure)
