Whatever purlins you buy, please ensure you use a minimum of 1.4 gauge. The tek screw manufacturers state that is the minimum thickness of teks to fix into properly.
 
Yes I would imagine it would be sleeved, 95% of designed cold rolled systems will need sleeves, but I would not say going to 1.6 minimum is necessary. We mostly do industrial buildings and 1.4 or 1.5 gauge is the most common, can't recall the last building we did with a 1.6 gauge rail or purlin. Quite often the design states 1.3 but then they are upgraded to 1.4 or 1.5 by the minimum spec requirements.
