Some of our foreign investors are now praying hard for substantial rain next month in the UK.

According to South West Water, reservoir levels are unusually low for this time of year, even less than the 1995 record in Devon and Somerset.

This must surely be complete nonsense.

I haven't been up on the chalk recently, but one assumes every winter borne is now to be seen fully running there - not that they're a very reliable predictor - dry until April in 2012 and then never stopped.

Personally, I hope it don't rain much again from now until Easter, which is quite late this year.

Not been quite as bad as last winter so far ( where we had 85 continuous days rain), but still pretty wet.
I'd like a nice long cold dry spell over the next few weeks myself........
And a decent summer LONG overdue.

Had a very wet day on Friday, which has made things sticky, but overall its drier than last year. Even the hunt haven't made a mess or been bollocked this year

I am not sure it could get wetter than this time last year, so it is a bonus to not have to be hand pulling fodder beet as the only way we could get it out the ground.

So I for one am enjoying the fact the drains are running but only slow the ditches are low and the place doesn't look like Passendale

It is is maybe slightly drier than average but not a lot, so keep it coming :)

Definitely dry here, similar if not drier than 2011/12 winter. Can easily see that regardless of surface conditions if we don't get 3 months solid rain before summer it could be a drought scenario.

Went to see our local reservoir last week had a shock lowest I have seen it for several years had small lots of rain but nothing to bring up the water table. Drier pit dry(always has water in it by dec} no drains running, plenty of time yet to have some rainfall(just started lambing) ,time will tell !!!

Been very dry up here since harvest time too.
Probably only been a couple of what you would call wet days since then with most rain forecast not amounting to much at all.

Scottish water pumping water from river here to Resevoir for past month which is very unusual for this time of year.
